London, UK, October 21st 2011 - York Fitness, one of the biggest names in the global fitness equipment industry for over 75 years, is announcing that its brand new range of boxing ‘Fight Gloves’ will be making their ‘ring entrance’ in the first of Frank Maloney’s 2011/2012 boxing event calendar, to be broadcast on ‘Fight Night’, Sky Sports at 8.00pm on Saturday 22nd October 2011.

These gloves have absorbed all the BBE pedigree and have now re-launched under the new ‘York Boxing’ brand.

Offering three new gloves in the ‘Fight Glove’ range, each design offers a technically unique structure, colour way and foam padding composition to suit every boxer’s needs - from novice fighters to professionals.
Viper Gloves
Historically favoured by the lighter-weight fighters, Viper Gloves are the favoured choice for the Bantam, Featherweight and Super-Featherweight classes due to their lighter, more flexible texture.
The new Viper Glove padding consists of an injection-moulded, foam insert that can be altered chemically to increase or reduce the rubber content - allowing for a wide range of soft-to-firm glove combinations.
York Fitness has designed the new Viper Gloves to suit lighter fighters, ensuring that its medium-firm construction allows for firmer hand-support, also aiding additional punch-power when required - as everyone knows, it’s not the size of the fighter, it’s how they use their punch.
Cobra Gloves
Fighters looking for that knock-out punch, say ‘hello’ to York Fitness’ Cobra Gloves. Designed for high-impact, shorter-term performance; these gloves are created with Light, Light-Welter, Welter and Middle-Weights in mind.
A ‘puncher-style’ design, the Cobra Gloves combine different layers of foam and a reduced overall thickness, to allow for a more flexible, comfortable feel to the outer edge of the glove.
Raptor Gloves
A brand new construction for York Fitness; the Raptor Gloves are targeted at the Cruiser, Light-Heavy and Heavy-Weight divisions.
These ‘intelligent gloves’ comprise padded layers; a combination of different shock-absorbent foam types that, when combined, incorporates an efficient memory.
The generous padding allows for a wide-range of motion through a compression-and-rebound effect when a punch is thrown. This results in powerful glove impact which, at the same time, re-memorises to enable quick defence against a rapid counter-punch.
Each ‘Fight Glove’ is available in three sizes - 8oz, 10oz and 10oz XL and is of hand-made quality, carefully inspected to York Fitness’ top standards. Only the best cow hide leathers are used and all seams are double stitched for extra endurance. Each glove is designed to a ‘comfort fit’ and incorporates an antibacterial and anti-sweat lining.
